The cost of Half Board
Our basic rate is £200 per week, per single person for room at half board (breakfast and evening meal). We find many people have very little for lunch when here, it being a very hot part of the day. Also many people will often be out and about at lunch time, so we don't want to charge you for something you are not getting.
However Haruna can organise a lunch for you, as and when you might want it. You only need to ask him how much it would be for him to go shop for some salad for instance. Also the Sand Plover beach bar is a great place to take a few beers and a lunch.
Always bear in mind that you have the freedom to do your own thing for lunch in our kitchen if you want to.
Half board also includes Gambia airport transfers and a local guide for the duration of your stay, who will arrange any additional activites, such as drumming tution, boat trips, etc.. He will accompany you on most of these, [not the drum or dance tuition] and generally make your stay with us a wonderful and memorable experience.
The basic rate does not include the cost of any activities you may want to undertake while you are staying with us (e.g. drum or dance workshops, excursions, nature reserves, etc). You will need to pay for these directly in The Gambia, but we can get you local prices not rip off tourist prices.
We offer discounts for couples, families and groups (see below).
We are offering 10% discount on all half board, weekly rates to guests who have stayed with us previously.
We are also offering 10% discount on all half board, weekly rates for stays of 3 or more weeks duration. For example stay 5 weeks for £900 rather than £1000 per single person.

*This is an example rate for the "typical" family. We appreciate that many families aren't this typical, so contact us with your requirements and we will negotiate a rate which works for everyone.
Bed and Breakfast Prices
For short stay guests and backpackers, our B&B rates are £15 per person per night.
If you want the occassional evening meal on top of your B & B rate it will be £10 per meal making it £25 per person, per night for B & B including evening meal. This is the same as our half board rate, so all are treated equally. Short stay B & B guests generally miss out on the included pick up at the airport for people staying for at least a week.
There are a number of good places to eat within a short walk of the guesthouse. BUT Nyima's food is the best in the Gambia, so don't miss out on it. All our guests praise our food.
Please note that the B&B rate does not include a dedicated guide, nor taxi fares between Banjul airport and the guest house, which are currently around D650 (at least£15) each way. However, if you tell us your flight details, we will be happy to arrange to collect you from the airport, if you make some payment in advance. Obviously we can't bear the expense of taking taxis to the airport with out some guarantee of you being there!
